The Greek word “arrhostos”

Found just five times in the New Testament (Mt. 14:14; Mk. 6:5, 13; 16:18; 1 Cor. 11:30), the Greek adjective “arrhostos” is a general word for “sickness” or “illness.”  In commenting on 1 Cor. 11:30 Bengel (2:232) said:  “Weak from slighter; sickly from more serious diseases.”
