Golgotha

Found only in Mt. 27:33; Mk. 15:22; Jn. 19:17, “Golgotha” meant “skull.”  This Aramaic term describes the site of Jesus’ crucifixion.  Based on Heb. 13:12, we know Jesus was crucified outside the city of Jerusalem.  Some have suggested this location was close to a busy street (Mk. 15:29; Jn. 19:20).  We do know it was close to the area of Jesus’ tomb (Jn. 19:41).
