The Greek word “gumneteuo” (gumniteuo, variant spelling)

Found just once in the New Testament (1 Cor. 4:11), and spelled “gumniteuo” in some manuscripts, the Greek verb “gumneteuo” meant “naked” or “poorly clothed.”  Paul faced many trials, one of which was being “ill-clad.” He told the Corinthians he was facing difficult times even as he penned this letter to them.
